FAQ
Q. Do I need a referral?
A. Physical Therapy in Florida is a direct access state. We do not require a referral to treat you for 30 days. If you are continuing to require our services following 30 days, you will need to see a physician and acquire a referral for continued care.
Q. Do you accept my insurance?
A. Foundational Stability is out-of-network with all insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. We believe in one on one, high quality care that is not limited by the restraints of insurance. In this way, our patients are able to reach their goals in less time and fewer visits. We collect payment at the time of service in the form of cash, credit, FSA/HSA. Upon request we can provide a superbill after each session if you wish to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This may cover some or all of the cost. By contacting your insurance provider, you can ask about out-of-network physical therapy. Often times depending on your deductible, an in-network provider can be expensive in the long run with less effective outcomes
Q. What should I wear?
A. Something comfortable that you are able to move well in. Stable athletic shoes if your goals include dynamic activities such as running or weight lifting.
Q. What should I expect?
A. One on one care with whole body considerations. You are a whole person not just a body part. There are many factors to consider within the whole body system and its many interactions. If conservative treatment has failed you in the past, I encourage an Initial Evaluation session to determine the root cause of your symptoms and review any previous treatments. Regardless of your reason for visit, the initial evaluation will include a thorough history and movement assessment. If you are a pelvic floor patient, an internal exam may be indicated with your consent. If you prefer not to do an internal exam, we are still able to complete a thorough assessment and treatment plan.
Q. How soon after birth can I begin physical therapy?
A. No time is too early to begin. However, an internal exam and heavy loading would be contraindicated until you are medically cleared at your 6 week postpartum appointment. Prior to 6 weeks, during the rest and recovery phase, while you are adapting to new life, we could discuss basic breathing and positioning to promote improved return to full function once you have been cleared. If we have seen you during pregnancy, which we do recommend, we likely will have discussed safe techniques that you could utilize in the early weeks postpartum. Even after 6 weeks, there is a structured approach to return to full function; 6 weeks is not necessarily clearance to return to everything you were doing pre-pregnancy.
Q. Can I bring my child to the appointment?
A. Absolutely! As parents we often have to be able to manage self care in the presence of a little one. Sometimes this can even be helpful to address daily activity modifications.
*Please note that we do not offer child care at this time, rather we understand the nature of a busy schedule and if you have a child in tow for your appointment, we are more than happy to accommodate that.
Q. Can I bring my partner in?
A. Also yes! They too can learn how best to support you at home.
Q. What is Dry needling?
A. Dry needling is an evidence-based treatment and therapeutic technique used by physical therapists to treat muscle pain and tension. The PT places thin, sterile needles into specific trigger points of muscle. Some may liken dry needling to acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, but dry needling focuses on musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology. The purposes of dry needling include reduced pain, improved range of motion, and faster recovery from injuries. Indications include but are not limited to: Myofascial pain, joint pain, soft tissue injuries, repetitive injuries.

About Me

I grew up in south Florida, where I loved going to the beach, hanging out and playing outside with my friends and family, and playing whatever sport was “in season.”
I went to FSU for my Bachelor’s Degree and earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of South Florida School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. I've been practicing since 2016 and became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2020, and received my dry needling certification in 2021.
I have worked my entire career in outpatient orthopedics, mostly with a generally active population. I became passionate about pelvic health following the birth of my 2 children when I experienced pelvic concerns myself and had to manage them. Furthering my education through the APTA Pelvic Health Academy, I began incorporating pelvic health and interventions in my orthopedic practice. There is very close association with pelvic function and general orthopedic symptoms.
I love that I get to combine these two passions to help my clients improve quality of life and general health and wellness. Running, playing sports, and strength training are my personal favorites. Not all exercise is equal but all exercise requires a foundational level of stability to prevent injury and maintain function.
